Едешь до "Комсомольской" (на метро ), выходишь к Ленинградскому и Ярославскому вокзалу. При выходе берешь чуть правее и проходишь между вокзалами, слева будут торговые точки, справа (за заборчиком) - ж/д пути Ярославского направления. Проходишь дальше вперед - будет торговый комплекс "Комсомольский". Поднимаешься по ступенькам, и сразу у входа направо, павильон Б-01.

Is John Abraham a part of DHOOM 2? Ever since Yash Raj announced plans of making the sequel to DHOOM, message boards are overflowing with speculation that John is a part of the highly-anticipated sequel. Everyone associated with DHOOM 2 is tightlipped and rightly so.

But here’s a new rumor doing the rounds of the industry…

Rumor mills are agog with the speculation that John will appear in the very last scene of DHOOM 2. It seems, John will appear for a few seconds only. The moment Hrithik removes the mask… the person turns out to be John. Is it true? We’ll wait for DHOOM 2 to unfold to know the truth. Or will Yash Raj confirm or deny the development beforehand to silence the rumor mongers?

Rakeysh Mehra's Delhi-6 to star Abhishek Bachchan and Om Puri

Rakeysh Mehra is all set to start his auto-biographical film Delhi-6. "I'm quite happy with the way the script has shaped up. I still have to do the final draft. I start early 2007. "Besides Abhishek Bachchan Delhi–6 will star Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta. A hunt is on for the leading lady.

"Om Puri is such a gifted artiste! He gave so much to Rang De Basanti in so little space. Atul of course is incredible. As for Divya Dutta she has always been one of my favorites. I was always looking forward to working with her."

Rakeysh Mehra is back from LA after showing his pioneering Rang De Basanti to the Golden Globe jury members. "Do I want Rang De Basanti to win a Golden Globe and Oscar? I don't know how to answer that. When a film goes out to a wider audience it's a very good feeling. Out of ninety Golden Globe members, thirty saw it. For an Indian film that was a good turn-out. And they gave the film a standing ovation. After the screening we had an informal meet-the-press for a good 45 minutes."

Rakeysh represented the film alone at the Golden Globe. "I feel we've lit a fire at the awards. Before going there I was apprehensive. They got the point of Rang De Basanti immediately. The relationship between the Hindu radical (Atul Kulkarni) and the Muslim protagonist (Kunal Kapoor) caught their attention. I guess Islamic fundamentalism is foremost in everyone's mind. World terrorism and the isolation of the Muslim were themes that the American audience understood in my film. More importantly the theme of the lost generation is far more pertinent in the US than out here. As for references to Indian history and our freedom fighters that was a revelation to them. For the Americans, Mahatma Gandhi has always been the face of India. Characters like Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh in Rang De Basanti were new to them."

Rakeysh spent two-and-a-half weeks with the legendary script guru Syd Fields. "It was like going back to school…just like Delhi - 6 which will take me back to my childhood. Syd had seen Rang De Basanti. He's a big fan of the film. He pointed out how effortlessly American audiences were relating to it. I told Syd I wasn’t a natural writer. He instructed me five days a week, half a day per day. When I was leaving on Wednesday (9 August) I felt rejuvenated. I felt I was re-born as a writer. I always thought writers belong to a different planet. They are gifted. Filmmakers just have to say 'action' and everyone else takes over…Seriously, screenplays have to be collaborative. Most people who wrote solo screenplays have been full-time writers from before. I realized screenplays are as basic as the camera to shoot a film."

‘Divine’ Sush blessed by snake

Frightening incidents often take place, especially when shooting at different locations. But one incident that could’ve been scary for some, turned out to be a blessing for Sushmita Sen.

On one of the locations where the shooting of ZINDAGGI ROCKS was going on, a sudden and large commotion took place. When director Tanuja Chandra, perturbed by the chaos, asked what was going on, she was told that a large snake had been sighted at the location.

Many members of the unit immediately gathered near the place, where the snake quietly sat with its face leaning upwards in a very regal manner, oblivious to all the hungama happening around it. And guess who was the most interested in this holy creature? None other then Sushmita!

Being an immense believer in snake god, she seized this chance to adhere to her belief and went very close to it, folded her hands in front and bent her head in prayer. The crew members were just transfixed as she finished her devotion.

Подскажите, есть ли кто еще с таким именем, кто ставит в Болливуде танцы, только мужского пола?

Либо он в жизни тренируется, чтобы потом в фильмах достоверно играть, либо переносит из фильмов в жизнь дурные привычки... :-)

I can never match up to Helen Aunty- Kareena

This is what Kareena Kapoor said on TV yesterday when she was quizzed about her cameo in Farhan Akhtar's DON.

"It's great. I am nervous because I don't think I could ever match up to Helen aunty. What she has done is something else altogether and there is absolutely no comparison," she said. Comparisons to the classic DON are inevitable but that doesn't weigh her down.

The song is out with Kareena trying to seduce Shahrukh in the jazzy golden outfit, looking ravishing as ever. The song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and choreographed by Farah Khan. The original song was sung by Asha Bhosle and saw the legendary Helen gyrating to the sexy number, seducing don Amitabh Bachchan.

Coming back to Farhan's DON, Shahrukh Khan too looks cool with that retro look donning a smashing new hairdo. The film is very contemporary with modern day gizmos and gadgets, though the essence is pretty much the same.

Aamir Khan to co-produce with PVR pictures

Ajay Bijli of PVR line of cinema halls has decided to move into the movie production business. PVR pictures have reportedly signed Aamir Khan for their first two projects. These two movies are expected to release in 2007 and 2008.

It is also believed that Aamir will be involved in co-production with PVR. He charges about 7-8 crores for a film and had signed a deal with them a few days ago. Bijli has however refused to comment on this.

It seems a great year for Aamir as he already has given two hits in the form of Rang De Basanti and Fanaa. He will also be starting work on Mani Ratnam’s Lajjo and will be starring in the remake of a Tamil film.

Apart from that he is also producing his next film after Lagaan starring his nephew.

Bollywood shouldn't sacrifice 'masala' USP: SRKThe presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar notwithstanding, a press conference here ahead of the screening of "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" at the 31st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), was rather sparsely attended.
Whether this was due to the 9.30 a.m. slot or otherwise, the press meet at the Sutton Place Hotel attracted more shutterbugs than pen pushers and more North America-based Indian freelancers than international journos.
Even so, the three high-profile men on the panel were in their elements as they fielded questions about their film as well as about Bollywood's position in the global context.
Both Karan and Shahrukh Khan stressed that it was crucial for Bollywood to constantly participate in international film festivals in order to further its overall strategy to go global.
Karan said: "I do not come to a major international platform like this because of any immediate commercial reason. Whether I am in Toronto or in Cannes, my primary intention is to sensitise the world not just to my own film but to Indian cinema as a whole.
"We have a unique format of storytelling and we should be proud of it. But it is always a good idea to look for global exposure for the beautiful movies that we make," said the super-successful Bollywood director.
Shahrukh said: "I have been to a few international film festivals. It is not enough to merely take a particular film to a global audience. It is important for us to explain to the market why Bollywood films continue to thrive despite growing competition from Hollywood.
"Conversely, we should also try and understand how global producers, distributors and exhibitors operate and tell them that we are ready to do business with them."
But both Karan and Shahrukh insisted that Bollywood must not sacrifice its internationally recognised USP - the song and dance and high drama-driven narrative style.
"We should find our place in the world without sacrificing our intrinsic character," Shahrukh asserted.

Amitabh Bachchan: "My favourite romantic film is Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool…for no one particular reason."

Hrithik Roshan : "Nick Cassavetes'The Notebook is my all-time favourite romantic film, though not as good as the book. Then there's Titanic —the best romantic film ever made. My favourites in Hindi are Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, Sooraj Barjatya's Maine Pyar Kiya, SLB's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and my own Koi…Mil Gaya. It was the cutest one, and had these really sweet moments between a mentally challenged boy and a city girl."

Rani Mukherjee: "I love Titanic because the love in the movie was pure, real, passionate and unconditional…the way the love story culminated in catastrophe was phenomenal …I love DDLJ and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for being so pure and yet so believable for us youngsters. You want a character like Raj to sweep you off your feet and go to any lengths for love and then stand by the girl's family and their dignity. I love Black for being such a sublime love story between and a teacher and his student. It was a love much beyond the ordinary. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak —I was in school when I fell in love with the Aamir-Juhi pair. It was my first experience of first-love on screen.

Mughal-e-Azam for sure…It's an epic love tale….to be able to put everything at stake for love is a quality we all wish to have and really admire it when it's seen on screen. Qayamat se Qayamat Tak …the best adaptation of Romeo & Juliet…love between two innocent people from warring families spells doom for their togetherness. But they enjoy whatever time they have together. Gadar: great romantic drama.

Farah Khan: "My favourite romantic films are Bobby, Love Story and Ek Duuje Ke Liye…great music , unusual settings and watchable even today. And in all three the lead pair was new. They shared a great chemistry."

Dino Morea: "The ultimate romantic films for me are Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Ghost and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin. "

Ekta Kapoor: "It will have to be Maine Pyar Kiya and Love Story, not the Hindi, the English one."

Sammir Dattani: "To me Titanic would always remain the most intensely romantic experience. Perfect representation of the rich-poor divide , and a narrative that holds together even today, Bobby is a major classic for me."

Nakul Vaid (actor): "My favourite romantic film is Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam…Lots of innocence and purity in the characters that made them larger-than-life and yet very realistic and hence very idealistic…and a sensitive film which touches you ..You want to be in a love story like this one."

Konkona Sen-Sharma: "Happy Together, Too Young To Die, Jules Et Jim and Smiles Of A Summer Night…There must be many more."

Rituparno Ghosh: "Teesri Kasam —because it showed a romance between two people who are oblivious of their feelings for one another, Guide—it reflected director Vijay Anand's maturity in dealing with the man-woman relationship, Charulata—Satyajit Ray's most acutely romantic film, Kaagaz Ke Phool —Guru Dutt on why he died Pyaasa, Pakeezah—the Fallen Woman's search for true love, Hazaaron Khawishein Aisi –it opened up wounds that even love wouldn't heal, Roman Holiday—Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck were like Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman in Guide without the songs.

Nikhil Advani: "Guide—truly tragic! Goddard's A Bout De Souffle—a superb story about unrequited love…Woody Allen's Annie Hall —funny , mad , eccentric..I think Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan in Sholay were silently and intensely romantic….When Harry Met Sally—modern and urbane take on love…Ye Tu Mama Tambien —great road movie with hidden love story.

Arjun Sablok (filmmaker): Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ)…the director's passion and honesty to his work is as powerful as the love between the lead pair. Lamhe: for making me believe love doesn't last for one moment but forever…Masoom: one of the most beautiful love stories told and felt. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam: performances and music were the highlights, and there were moments that taught us how to let go of the one we love."

Madhur Bhandarkar (filmmaker)— Ek Duuje Ke Liye : the bold theme of a romance across regional barriers is just the kind of thing I'd like to attempt. K. Balachander's direction and Laxmikant-Pyarelal's music were amazing. Then there was Mr Kamal Haasan in his Hindi debut. He made a perfect pair with Rati Agnihotri."

Apoorva Lakhia (filmmaker)—I guess it will have to be Yash Chopra's Lamhe. It reminds me of my favourite book Love In The Times Of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez , the story of one man's struggle yearning to find true love over a long period of time .

Sujoy Ghosh: My favourite romantic films are Jerry Zucker's Ghost…The Amitabh Bachchan-Raakhee track in Kala Patthar, the Shah Rukh-Aishwarya track in Mohabbatein, the Amitabh-Jaya track in Sholay…All these gave a lot of dignity respect and faith to the spirit of love. I'd love to achieve this level of love in life and in my films.

Bipasha Basu: Ghost…I like the theme of eternal love beyond the living, Arthur Hiller's Love Story showcases the strength of love…DDLJ because it's just simply so romantic and makes you feel happy and good about falling in love.

Subhash Ghai: "My favourite romantic film will have to be Kuch Kuch Hota Hai…a daughter's search for her father's lost love…It was told brilliantly by Karan Johar who's my favourite filmmaker from the 1990s.

Mahesh Bhatt (filmmaker)—"It has to be David Lean's Dr Zhivago. It's an intimate tale of forbidden love set against the backdrop of a country at war…a passionate movie about passionate people during passionate times…a film that refuses to wither with time."

Aftab Shivdasani: "Silsila, of course…Because of the incredible chemistry between the principal characters….DDLJ because of the magical chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol and the director's sensitivity in capturing that chemistry.

Ananth Mahadevan: "Mughal-e-Azam for its stately rebellion , Madhumati for its love-never-dies feeling.. Abhimaan for the way love overcame human frailties and of course Guru Dutt's Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam & Kaagaz Ke Phool for a love that was considered taboo.

Priyanka Chopra is essaying the stunning Zeenat Aman's character [Roma] in Farhan Akhtar's eagerly anticipated DON, releasing on Diwali / Eid this year. In an interview to the BBC Asian Network to be aired soon, when she was asked about comparisons with Zeenat Aman, she exclusively divulged, 'I am not trying to step in to Zeenatji's shoes. She was in a league of her own. My character is very different from the one in the original. I'm playing a killer and have received special training in Martial Arts by a Shaolin teacher to prepare for the role! DON will show me in a completely new avatar!'

For long, there has been talk that contrary to perception, the new DON is replete with twists, turns and unforeseen surprises and thrills, and looks like this is only one of them!

U T V is releasing DON internationally on October 20.


В Доне Приянка играет персонаж, отличный от персонажа Зинат Аман в оригинальном фильме - здесь девушка будет играть убийцу, она даже обучалась боевым искусствам у одного из Шаолиньских преподавателей :-)
