Last we heard her say that she hasn't signed any film after her comeback film, Aaja Nachle. But here's the latest on Madhuri Dixit. She is all set to play an out-and-out comic role for the first time in her career in Meghna Gulzar's film titled 36-24-36. The film will be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications.

When contacted, director Meghna confirmed the news. She told Mumbai Mirror, "Yes, it's true that we are in talks with Madhuri to play the protagonist in a comedy film. But it's too early to discuss anything right now."

On being probed further, she added "Madhuri's character in my film is very different from what she's ever done so far." Meghna met the actress and narrated the script to her when she was in India recently. "I was happy to watch Madhuri laughing as I narrated the script to her. She loved the script and showed a keen interest in doing it," she said.

So what is it that prompted Meghna to approach Madhuri? "She'll be fabulous for the role as it's something that we have never seen her do before. We're waiting to work out the dates," said Meghna.

And what about the interesting title? Meghna laughed and said, "The film is obviously about measurements and weight loss. Not that I think Madhuri's out of shape. But she will do complete justice to the character. And she too said that it's something she'd definitely like to do."

As Pritish Nandy Communications and Meghna are well aware of the constraints that the actress has, they are willing to make all the necessary arrangements so that she doesn't face any trouble while shooting for the film. Meghna added, "We obviously approached her knowing that she would have problems staying away from her family and home for a long time. Right now she is busy with the tour (The Unforgettable). She's figuring out how she'll manage her children and family while shooting for my film."

But that's something Pritish Nandy has kept in mind and if need be, the film will be shot in the US so that Madhuri will not have to stay away from home for too long. "Madhuri hasn't laid any conditions but PNC and I are aware of her situation and will work out the logistics accordingly," said Meghna.

In a candid conversation, Madhuri Dixit Nene shares her experience at 'The Unforgettable Tour' and talks about her other first ever experiences.

How was the experience of performing at The Unforgettable Tour?
'The Unforgettable Tour' and Wizcraft gave me an opportunity to perform with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya and Abhishek on the same stage. LA and San Francisco shows have been overwhelming and I am looking forward to visiting other cities and reaching out to my fans. I have worked with Aishwarya and Preity before and that has been great. Also, there is a great comfort level in our team and I am sure it is going to be an unforgettable experience.

First Stage Performance....
I was 3 Ёц years old when I first performed on stage. It was a small portion of Kathak.

First rehearsal for a World Tour...
It was in 1991. I was on a world tour with Anil Kapoor... and the world tour happened after our movies Tezaab and Ram Lakhan were a hit at the box office.

First Amitabh Bachchan movie that you saw....
In theatre, it was Amar Akbar Anthony. My husband didn't watch many Hindi movies during his stay here. But when I asked him about the only Hindi movie that he watched I was amazed and surprised by the answer I got. Coincidently, Amar Akbar Anthony is the first and the only Hindi movie that my husband watched.

It was an Unforgettable Moment for me when I heard this.

First time you faced the camera....
It was for my movie Abodh. I dint know how a camera looks likes or a set looks like. I was leaning towards the wall and it was only until my hand passed through the wall; I realized that it was a set. Until then I had not experienced or faced camera ever

Your First Song....
It was for my movie Abodh again. We had to shoot for a bhajan at a temple... Yes, that was the first song that I shot for.

First time you got mobbed...
It was after my movie Tezaab. I was at the Mumbai airport when few youngsters were whispering amongst themselves and I caught the word Mohini. One of them asked, "You are Mohini from the film Tezaab, Right!!" I was very excited when I heard that.

First Fan Mail....
I had received lot of letter after my movie Tezaab... I was amazed by the response. This was the first time I realized that I am popular or getting popular.

• What made you do the Unforgettable Tour?
I was assured about the shows being great, and they surely were! One of the key reasons for me loving the Tour was that I got to perform with Amitabh Bachchan, whom we all admire.

• What did you keep in mind before you agreed to be part of the shows?
My children, Arin and Ryan have always been my priority. Once that was settled, I only had to convince myself, and everything else was easy. I didn't think too hard before I agreed to be part of the Tour. My only concern was my kids. Once my family was okay with it, I did the shows.

• Was your husband, Dr Sriram Nene okay about you doing the shows too?
My husband hardly reacts to anything. We talked about it after which we mutually agreed that I should do the shows. We had to work out certain things like managing the affairs when I am not around. It is my family that I value. My mother-in-law is taking care of the kids while I am busy with the Tour. In fact, in the first leg of the Tour, my entire family, including my husband and kids came to watch the shows and support me.

• How did you feel while performing in front of your fans after such a long time?
It’s funny when people ask such questions. Once I stepped on the stage, it was like I had never been away. But I must say one thing, the Tour was a good opportunity for me to interact with and perform in front of my fans.

• You have never worked with Amitabh Bachchan, except for an item song in Bade Miyan Chhotte Miyan. How was it working with him?
It was simply great. He is an icon and you can learn a lot by just observing him on stage. I appreciate the fact that there was no interference by anyone. I had my own medley of songs, including ‘Dola re’.

• How was the situation backstage, especially since you haven’t worked with Abhishek Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh before?
We all kept complimenting each other and they would go like ‘You’re looking gorgeous’ and stuff! I have worked with Preity (Zinta) and Aishwarya (Rai) earlier, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Ritiesh and Abhishek perform so well on stage.

• When are you coming to India next?
Well, I have no plans of coming to India as of now. I will eventually return, but nothing is finalised right now.

• There are reports that you are doing Yash Chopra’s next film.
These are just rumours. I would love to work with him time and again, as we both respect each other immensely, but right now I am not doing any film.

Однако главным приоритетом всегда были ее дети, поэтому когда с ними все устроилось, и семья согласилась - она незамедлительно дала согласие на участие в туре. С мужем она поговорила - и они пришли к молчаливому согласию, что Мадхури участвует, обсудив, как семья будет справляться без нее. Свекровь сидела с детьми, а в первую часть тура семья вообще ходила на представления и поддерживала ее.

Как только она ступает на сцену, ей кажется, что она никогда и не уходила с нее, тур был для нее отличной возможностью пообщаться со своими поклонниками. Ей понравилось работать с Амитом, и она считает, что у него многому можно научиться, просто наблюдая за его работой. Еще ей понравилось, что никто в ее работу не вмешивался - она сама составила свой номер. Работать с остальной командой тура тоже было замечательно.

Пока у Мадхури нет планов приезжать в Индию, возможно, когда-то она вернется, но пока ничего не решено. Ее новый фильм с Яшрадж - тоже только слухи, хотя она с удовольствием бы работала с ними - но пока она не подписалась ни на какой фильм.

за 18 сентября тут На ТВ планируется запустить новое танцшоу Rin Dance Premier League, где в жюри буду сидеть болливудские звёзды. Уже вроде согласились Салман, Карина и Мадхури. Приглашали еше Ашку, но она такой гонорар запросила, что отказались))

Мадхури сейчас дома в Колорадо и занята больше здоровьем малыша, а не предстоящей ролью Индиры Ганди.
"Индира Ганди - мой кумир, но согласия на съмки я пока не давала. Режиссёр Krishna Shah предложил мне эту роль. Он уверен, что я смогу это сыграть. Он показал массу материалов, которые уже собраны для начала работы над фильмом. Я была под впечатлением, но до конца еще ничего не решено, мы продолжаем переговоры". Оно и понятно - роль такого плана сложно воплотить на экране, к тому же, пока еще никто не добился официального разрешения на эти съемки у Сони Ганди. А Мадхури сейчас в той поре, когда и карьера в общем-то сделана, и в семье все налажено, поэтому соглашаться на проект, в котором не уверена на 100%, она не будет.
В целом Мадхури согласна, но для нее важно время съемок и актерский состав. Хотелось бы, чтобы фильм привлек широкую аудиторию, говорит она.
Мадхури и сейчас поступают предложения снова сниматься, за что она очень благодарна, но, смеясь, отвечает, что успеть везде нельзя.
