Что=то я последнее время заговариваться стала...
А в Badhai как раз клипы с Шилпой - все, что есть хорошего... ну и наверно с Анилом - для любителей Анила. А сам фильм - как-то не показался.. по крайней мере, далеко не первый в очереди на просмотр он бы у меня стоял, если бы я задумала ретроспективу фильмов с ним устроить...

Просто я отстала от индийской киножизни. Лет пять в эту сторону не смотрела, ну а как говориться встречают по одежде, а этот Анил шибко уж чокнутого профессора(Мерфи Эдди) напоминает ;) А вообще я бы не отказалась от всех фильмов с Анилом :)

Да, инфа частично оттуда взята, но вот какая - сказать сложно. Я с сети все копирую себе в папки по актерам в вордовские файлы, и что именно взято с индиансовы, не скажу. Что-то из статей я переводила сама несколько лет назад, некоторые статьи обменивала по переписке в рукописном варианте так же несколько лет назад. Что тут оспаривать, и на что хоть претендуют?

Надо везде первоисточник указать? Я копирую без источника, для себя, поэтому, если у людей есть претензии, то надо удалить спорные статьи для спокойствия посетителей. Указать пероисточник не смогу, не помню.

Сония, к тебе настучали, мне ни гугу, поэтому почисти то, на что претендуют (поверю на слово, мне все равно), пожалуйста, чтоб все было по правилам

Oksana , тогда поверь на слово . много я брала с его сайта, ставила фото с его наградами, некоторые статьи переводили мои форумчане..., некоторые с др.сайтов.... по фото можно даже судить, прилагаемым к статьям.
Он - мой любимый актер с детства, так что я с ним стараюсь собирать всю инфу, какую найду.

When Govind Nihalani left Anil Kapoor high and dry


Veteran actor Anil Kapoor experienced a high when Govind Nihalani called him up a year back. Anil thought the award-winning director would give him a role in his film but was left dry after Nihalani asked him to be a brand ambassador for an NGO working for children’s rights.

“I was really excited when Govindji called me and said that he wanted to meet me. He is a great director and I thought he was approaching me to give me a role in his film,” Anil said during a news conference conducted by Plan India, a rights group working against child labour.

“Plus he said that he would come and see me. I was so thrilled that a person of such a stature was even coming to meet me. I had worn a very sober shirt and had asked my wife whether I was looking fine for Govindji to select me but he came and asked me whether I wanted to be a part of an NGO.”

But the actor said that he immediately agreed to be part of the project because he felt passionate about its objective.

Anil, 57, who has never endorsed a brand or an organisation before, said his children think he is a “fool” to not take advantage of the brand value he has built over around three decades.

“From 1983, you can say that I became a saleable brand but I have never endorsed for any company or organisation,” he said. “I have never wanted to make money. My children think I’m a fool. They say ‘are you mad, when all the actors are endorsing so many brands, you are not doing any? Do you know how rich we could have been?’”

“But I gave them the examples of Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and Sunil Dutt, who never endorsed for anybody.”

Anil, who is brand ambassador as well as patron for Plan India, said he could relate to this project of doing something for the children after having already played a similar role in the hit film “Mr. India”.

“What you are as a person comes out on screen. I have always been very comfortable with children and when I met these children, the experience moved me. I did not want to be a photo op in these projects. I joined this because I wanted to do something and I will do something.”

отсюда - свежее интервью с Анилом по поводу выхода его нового фильма Gandhi My Father и вообще за жизнь :-).

Anil Kapoor has been a part of the Hindi film industry for about 25 years. From one of the biggest heroes of his time in Ram Lakhan, Tezaab and Mr India, he turned into a seasoned star in films like Pukar, Taal and Nayak: The Real Hero.

Now, he turns producer with the promising Gandhi My Father, starring Akshaye Khanna, Darshan Jariwala, Shefali Shah and Bhoomika Chawla .

The actor talked about his career and much more with BBC Hindi India Editor, Sanjeev Srivastava, on Ek Mulaqat, a weekly chat show on Radio One. The show will be broadcast at noon, on Sunday, July 29.

Here are some excerpts from the show:

SS: You have done a variety of roles starting with Woh Saat Din, Meri Jung, Ram Lakhan, Kishan Kanhiya, and Rakhwala. How did you play so many different characters? You must have worked several shifts.

AK: I trained with Roshan Tanejasaab for a year and I respect him a lot. I have always done less work, but even then, it would be three or four films. When I got an opportunity to go abroad and meet foreign filmmakers, they were very surprised as to how we could work in three or four films at the same time. Actually, we Indians are very capable, and I am an Indian. Perhaps that's why I am able to do this. I'm proud to be an Indian.


SS: Which of these characters is closest to yours? In the 1980s, you surpassed Amitabh in your roles of the 'angry young man'.

AK: Firstly, I have to admit honestly that I did not surpass him [Amitabh]. He is one of the greatest actors. Yes, it's true I acted in several films whose screenplay was written with Amitabhji in mind.


SS: When I saw Meri Jung, it seemed like Anil Kapoor in an Amitabh film. You enacted your part so well in that film.

AK: Yes, he [Amitabh] was going to do this film. Initially, he was meant to do Mr India also. But I added my own style to these characters. If you see Mr India, you will never feel that this film was going to be done by Amitabh. Then I acted in Javed Akhtar's film, who used to write films only for Amitabh. I worked with Yash Chopra [Images], who used to make films with Amitabhji. When people compared me to Amitji, I considered it an honour that at least I have reached this stage where people are comparing me with Amitji.

SS: Believe it or not, you were the biggest star of the 1980s.

AK: I never thought about it. I used to just do my work. When people used to say that Anil Kapoor is on the cover of the magazine, it didn't affect me much. My career graph didn't have too many ups and downs. I used to give a hit film every one or two years. I didn't have any problems at home or with the family either. Thanks to God everything was fine.

SS: You have a very good voice. If you weren't an actor, you could surely have become a singer.

AK: Yes, I used to practice singing before. I can tell you that I could have become a better singer than all the actors who sing in films.


SS: So you were interested in music also? And you used to practice singing?

AK: Yes, I used to practice singing. In Woh Saat Din, I came to Mumbai to become a music director and I always have a harmonium with me. You will see that I am quite comfortable with that harmonium. The film was shot in 1982. In 1977-78, I learnt music from Chote Iqbalsaab.

When I was studying in seventh class, I was 12-13 years of age, I played the childhood role of Shashi Kapoor in the film Tu Payal Main geet. I auditioned for the role without telling anyone at home and I was selected. I had to play the sitar in that film. I said I don't know how to play the sitar. My director told me that there is a guru in Bandra who teaches sitar, and I thought that if I work in the film without learning to play the sitar, it will look very bad. So for a month I used to go by bus to learn to play the sitar. I always used to do my work very passionately. If the work doesn't turn out properly, it feels like it's no fun. That's how I learnt horse riding and swimming also. I learnt several things but just enough so that when I come on screen I look like I know it. I did all this so that I could act properly. There was never any confusion as to what I have to do in life. I always wanted to be an actor.


SS: Did people around you, your family and all say that you have it in you to be an actor -- or was it just your own misconception?

AK: It was only my misconception. Everyone thought I was mad. People used to say -- how would this boy with a small face and long hair, and thin legs become a hero? But there was an enthusiasm. I couldn't rehearse my lines loudly at home so I used to go for a walk with my grandfather. No one lived in that locality so I used to climb up a tank on the eighth/tenth floor and practice from there.


SS: Another song of your choice?

AK: I did some films which, if you see them, you would feel that the music is everything. Take 1942 - A Love Story for instance. I did this film because of its music. Vidhu Vinod Chopra came to me and I said to him, 'why are you taking me for this film? I'm a father of three and you want me to do a love story? The film also has a Romeo and Juliet kind of scene. Then he played me a song he had recorded for the film and then I thought that I will definitely do this film.

SS: You said in some interview that you couldn't learn to dance. I don't agree with you on this, but tell us, is it true?

AK: Dance master Kamal taught me a few steps of the tapori dance from Bhagwan Dada. Amitabh Bachchan used to do this before me. Amitji belonged to North India, but I belonged to Mumbai and lived in Chembur. This tapori dance was also Maharashtrian, so I was able to learn it quite naturally. I have some sense of rhythm so I learn a few steps of Bhangra also. But I couldn't do Western dance. If you liked my dance in any film, it's because I would have danced in my own style. If you pressurise me and tell me that I have to dance like Prabhudeva or Mithun, then it will be difficult.

SS: Then how did you dance in Taal?

AK: Working with Sarojji, I learnt a little bit of dancing. The song was packaged so well that even I looked good to you.

SS: Another song...

AK: Another song of 1942: A Love Story that I like very much is Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga. I think this song should find a place in history. Kumar Sanu sang it beautifully. I had suggested Kumar Sanu for this film. When he came, he had grown a beard, so the director Vidhu Vinod Chopra said to him, 'it's such a beautiful romantic song and look at you; first go and get a shave.'

Another instance I remember [is that] Vidhu didn't have the money to film the song. Those days, Vidhu didn't have a lot of money. The music director was Panchamda. He told Vidhu to go ahead and film the song, and he will pitch in the money. So he gave the money.

SS: It was picturised beautifully.

AK: Sanjay Leela Bhansali picturised this song. That's when I realised his potential. The song had a male voice so it should have been picturised with me but all the shots were filming Manisha Koirala. I argued with Sanjay a lot. The song was very poetic and later I realised that he was right and I was wrong.

SS: Today in India, who is the dancer you wish you could dance like?

AK: I think Prabhudeva is the country's best dancer today. Hrithik Roshan [Images] and Shiamak Davar are also very good dancers.


SS: Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit were the two big heroines of the 1980s and 1990s. You did many films with both of them. Who was closer to you?

AK: I have worked more with Madhuri Dixit. She is from Mumbai, so I feel closer to her. Her career graph went up after working with me. She got recognition with Tezaab.

When I worked with Sridevi, she was a big star and I was an upcoming actor. I did many films with her -- Lamhe and Mr India. She got married to my brother and now she is my bhabhi. She is a very good actress. I would include Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit as good dancers.

SS: Who do you like among today's actresses?

AK: After Madhuri, I liked Aishwarya and Kajol . They have some magic in them. Rani is also a good actress; she has improved her acting a lot. Her role in Black was fantastic. Preity Zinta also has her strengths.


SS: Working with such beautiful heroines, you heart never fluttered?

AK: It always fluttered. There wasn't a day when my heart didn't flutter, but then I think � do I want two seconds of happiness or a lifetime of happiness?

SS: You always choose a lifetime of happiness?

AK: Yes. Do I make myself happy or some one else unhappy? It's always a struggle. That is why my wife has been with me for the last 34 years -- as a girlfriend, as a friend, and as a wife.

SS: Your daughter is also coming into films. Were you supportive or against her decision?

AK: Times have changed. Today, children decide what they want to do. She wants to be an actress so I encouraged her, but I also told her all about this field.

SS: The greatest moments in your life?

AK: When I fell in love with my wife, when my daughter was born, when I signed Meri Jung, when my family felt proud of me, when I finished making Gandhi - My father, when I presented this film at the press conference.

SS: What plans for the future?

AK: Gandhi - My father releases on August 3. Then comes Anees Bazmi's Welcome. Then there will be an Abbas-Mustan film. I am also working in one of Subhash Ghai's films, called Black and White.

Though his first independent production, under the banner, Anil Kapoor Films Company, the 20-crore GANDHI MY FATHER, could not do much at the Box Office, life moves on for one of the greatest survivors of our times, Anil Kapoor.

Anil now plans to bring back on screen one of the most successful pairs of the Nineties, the ‘dhak-dhak’ girl, Madhuri Dixit and himself. Anil recently expressed his tentative plans (bordering more on desire!) to produce a film, featuring himself and Madhuri Dixit, perhaps next year.

For those who do not know, the pair gave some of the biggest hits of their careers together like TEZAAB, RAM LAKHAN and BETA, to mention a few. They were last seen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s PUKAR, the film that fetched Anil Kapoor, the National Award for best actor.

We have been revealing the secrets of the most secretive project from the Yash Raj banner, TASHAN. Here is another disclosure.

While we have talked a lot about the two other leading heroes, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan (their getup, hairstyle etc), here is something about one of the most important TASHAN characters, being played by the 'jhakaas' actor, Anil Kapoor (reportedly a negative).

As per unit sources and media reports, TASHAN will see Anil Kapoor playing a rickshawaala from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, who makes it big in the city. There is also a buzz that apart from his shaven and tattoed chest, Anil may create nostalgia, with his 'Lakhan' look, from Subhash Ghai's blockbuster hit, RAM LAKHAN.

Anil Kapoor has just done a photo-shoot with daughter Sonam, and he's glowing with parental pride. He speaks to Subhash K Jha.

How does it feel to share camera space with your daughter?
I'm numbed when I look at her finesse on screen. I'm just so anxious about Sawariya. I know she has done her best. And now we can only wait for reactions. You know, when I saw her in the rushes I wasn't just looking at her.

I was also looking at the entire film. There's a father and a film person looking proudly at Sawariya. As someone who understands cinema I can recognize the excellence of Sawariya. Everything works in it. Sonam is in a win-win situation.

Unlike you when you started out…
(chuckles) That's right. I started with bit roles in Ek Baar Kaho and Hamare Tumhare, then made my way up. Sonam has Sony Pictures and Sanjay Bhansali backing her ambitions. How much higher can she start?

There's so much sincerity in the project. As a matter of fact, my responsibilities towards Sonam were taken over by Sanjay.I don't think I could've done a better job.

Were you tempted to launch her?
No way! I never knew Sonam wanted to be an actress. Her decision was a bolt from the blue. By the time I got to know her ambitions Sanjay was already working with her.

Sanjay Bhansali compares Sonam to Waheeda Rehman and Rekha.
I'm speechless when he says that. Sonam has a certain god-given presence. What can I say about her? To me she's my child. I just want her to work hard and look after herself. She must enjoy herself while acting. In Sawariya she has surprised me. But honestly she has a long way to go.

Were you pained when she had to push herself so hard for her debut film?
Look Subhash, I'm a very hard worker myself. I've pushed myself beyond my capacity all my life. I'd expect nothing less from Sonam. Nothing comes easy in life. Hard work is the only way to succeed. I don't believe in sitting back and letting destiny take over.

Not sleeping, working around-the-clock…these are essential to achieve excellence. Recently I went to release the album of Ustad Bismillah Khan's pupil Shubha Ghosh. The famous classical dancer Sitara Devi was also there. I told her she was so lucky to have her guru's guidance.

You never had that kind of guidance?
I virtually crawled up to where I am. Also, there were no expectations riding on me whereas there's much expected from Sonam. More than being her father's daughter, the expectations come from being Sanjay Bhansali's heroine. I feel the guru-shishya parampara has all but vanished.

With Sanjay-Sonam the guru-shishya parampara is back.He has been as much a father to her as me. The way he has trained both Ranbir and Sonam, is unbelievable. I wish I had a Sanjay Bhansali to launch me. The end-product and the reaction to it are stupendous.

Why is your wife so aloof from it all?
She's just shy of the film industry. But she's completely involved with Sonam's career. Sunita is happy with her privacy. She has her own friends away from the industry. I believe that in every marriage the partners should do what makes them happy. She says I've spoilt her completely.I've never persuaded her to do anything.

And one filmy spouse is enough in a family.
Oh yes! I'm unabashedly filmy. I love cinema. That's my life. I've never been obsessed with money. I've done films for the love of cinema. In that sense, Shabana Azmi has always been a role model. She has made a big contribution to my life and career. I can never forget that.

Rishi Kapoor was your colleague. Now you and he share the same anxieties as expectant fathers?
Yes. We go back a long way. Not that we meet every day. But we've always been very very close.

My mom and Rishi's mom Krishnaji have been friends for over fifty years. Not a single day goes by without their interaction. The two families share a really deep bond.

Would Sonam's presence in the film industry make you selfconscious?
Me and selfconscious don't go together. I'm in a totally different zone.

I make people selfconscious… But yes, of course it makes a difference. Suddenly Sonam is there to remind the industry of my age. I'm exposed.

Насчет сравнения Бхансали, который сказал, что Сонам напоминает ему Вахиду Рехман и Рекху - Анил просто не нашел слов, когда Бхансали это сказал, но сам он никак не может это прокомментировать, ведь Сонам - его дочь, и он хочет, чтобы она упорно работала и наслаждалась процессом работы. В Sawariya она его удивила. Но если честно, ей есть еще к чему стремиться.

Про Санджая - Анил считает, что он сделал для дебюта Сонам все возможное, и был для нее как отец, то, как он обучал Ранбира и Сонам - просто невероятным. Анил хотел бы, чтобы Санджай был его дебютным режиссером.

Жена Анила стесняется киноиндустрии, но очень вовлечена в карьеру Сонам. Сунита счастлива, что имеет свою жизнь и друзей вне индустрии. Одного кинодеятеля вполне достаточно на семью. Let's not talk about my character in Tashan. Let people see the film first as I am looking forward to see how the audience reacts to my character.

• You are working with Yash Chopra after a long time. There was some problem between you and him over you not doing Parampara.

It was something very minor and it didn't affect our relationship. We continued to interact on a regular basis. Although we often spoke about working together, it only materialised after all these years with Tashan.

• Aditya Chopra offered you to play a tapori in Tashan as he only likes you in those kinds of roles.

I think Adi (Aditya Chopra) is the best person to answer this but yes he has told me that he loves as a tapori.

• You have been successfully playing the same kind of character in all your films like Mashal, Ram Lakhan and Welcome. What makes you tick?

I feel the masses connect with me easily as a tapori but the script has to be good too. I know I should not overdo it as everyone gets tired of seeing an actor do the same thing over and over again.

• But does it not limit your capabilities as an actor since filmmakers come with the same kind of roles?

No look at Subhash Ghai. We started with Meri Jung where I played a lawyer and Karma and Ram Lakhan where I was a tapori. But then, Subhash also offered me Taal and Black And White. David Dhawan is one director who gets upset when I do films like Hum Aap Ke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and Hamara Dil Aap Ke Paas Hai.

• Why?

He says, 'Yaar Anil tu yeh sab mat kar sirf yeh kar kyonki yeh commercial hai yaar.' He is one person who gets very panicky if I try something different.

• Don't you think this is the best phase of your life with Welcome and Race being blockbusters and the soon-to-be-released Tashan?

I think it is the best phase of my life personally as well as professionally. My children are doing well, my production work is falling in place and as an actor I am enjoying the best phase in my life. I am being offered interesting scripts but I am only shooting for Yuvraj right now. I will be going to London for ten days and then to New York to meet both my daughters, Sonam and Riya. I have enough time to develop and make scripts under my banner and my wife is looking very good! (Laughs)

• Gandhi My Father, which released under your banner, won many awards but the film wasn't a commercial hit…

Gandhi My Father not doing well at the box office would have affected some new small-town producer who does not know anything about filmmaking. I belong to a filmmaking family and I have seen these things happening so many times. People who say that my film has not made money do not understand that I will be making money from Gandhi My Father for years to come as there are so many different avenues apart from collection from theatres.

• You have set up your own production house while your brothers Boney and Sanjay are making their own films. Earlier, Sanjay was upset with you since you didn't do his film with Vivek Agnihotri?

Jab hum acting alag alag kar sakte hai then why can't we produce films differently? Sanjay is young and gets excited very soon. But better sense prevailed and he is making a bigger and better film now. He was upset when I did not do his film and thought 'Why is my elder brother doing this to me?' I told him that it was not the right film but he didn't understand so I put my foot down and told him that I don't want to do it and he got upset with me.

• Your family was also upset over this…

My family was upset but everything is fine now and Sanjay is making a film with Anees Bazmee.

• Does he take advice from you on filmmaking?

I have always been a listener in my family. All of them, including my children, advice me. I don't advice anyone. (Laughs)

• Sonam is not signing too many films. Any reasons?

I really wish I were in her shoes and could do one film at a time. She is in no hurry.

• Does she discuss the offers she gets?

If she likes a film she will do it. She has a mind of her own.

• I believe that you didn't know who Hollywood director Danny Boyle was when he offered you a film.

Yes. I had heard the names of all his films but I didn't know he was the same director. My son told me who he was. In fact, my friends in the industry jokingly say, 'Anil is so ignorant!'
